Resources

.............................................

Knowledge management is about systematically and routinely utilising resources such as knowledge and information, and maximising what the organisations collectively know to perform better and to achieve their mission.

This has traditionally been one of ICOMP’s strategic organisational roles with unique strengths in strategic knowledge management. ICOMP’s publications and knowledge assets are targeted at programme managers, policy-makers, researchers, donor agencies, and other interested parties.

Established primarily to strengthen programme managerial competence and performance, ICOMP facilitates the exchange and application of knowledge through:

- Documenting promising practices through its publications: quarterly Feedback newsletter; Series on Upscaling Innovations in Reproductive Health; and the journal Innovations for population/RH programme managers

- Organising exposure visits for peer learning

- Developing a website as a virtual resource centre with catalogues of promising RH practices and a database on Reproductive Health Websites

- Generating knowledge assets in the form of training manuals and assessment and intervention tools

- Establising a South-South-North NGO network to serve as a community of practice by (a) sharing experiences,(b) testing innovative pilot projects, and (c) catalysing and promoting South-South-North exchanges
