Population Concern works for the improvement of the quality of life world-wide by advancing the rights of all people to exercise free and informed reproductive health choice and to have access to confidential sexual and reproductive health services including family planning. It has an Education Department that raises awareness on development issues, especially those related to reproductive health, human rights and global citizenship among school students aged 15-19 years. In addition, on 1st October 2001, Population Concern opened its first office in Scotland to consolidate and expand its advocacy and education initiatives in Scotland.

On this website, users can find examples of Population Concern's current and former international programmes in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The 'press centre' provides up-to-date facts, figures and expertise on global reproductive health issues and case studies from concurrent programmes and projects in over 20 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. The issues concerned are maternal mortality, condom distribution crisis, HIV/AIDS, young people and reproductive health, young people and STI, sexual and reproductive health and risks. There is also the latest population related news releases on the website.
