POPIN strives to make international, regional and national population information, particularly information available from United Nations sources, easily available to the international community.

Population information on this website can be classified as global and regional data.

  1. Global data - such as data for particular countries, World Population Prospects: The 2000 Revision, demographic year books, global and regional population distribution, social indicators, population and vital statistics report, statistical data on children, population of cities, education and literacy database, health statistics, epidemiological fact sheets by country, basic refugee facts, The World's Women: 2000.
  2. Regional data - such as The 1997 African Statistical Yearbook, reproductive health indicators, population and development indicators for Asia and the Pacific, population and family planning in China, women and men in Europe and North America, Statistical Yearbook For Latin America And The Caribbean 2000, women and men in the Arab countries.
