    It is the vision of ICOMP to be recognised for making a critical difference in population programmes. Year 2008 proved to be challenging for ICOMP as it was affected by the financial difficulties that emerged across the globe. Nevertheless, ICOMP continued to pursue its vision and mission of contributing to excellence in population programmes through capacity development of programme managers and leaders at various levels.     ICOMP continued to steadily progress towards its mission of contributing to excellence in population programmes which contribute significantly to improving quality of life and to sustainable development. It focuses on institutional capacity development for universal access to reproductive health to implement the ICPD agenda and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It strengthens institutional capacity in three ways: (i) strengthen individual and organisational capacity for leadership and management, (ii) enhance utilisation of promising programme practices, and (iii) promote policy dialogues.
